Foglights uneven?

Howdy all on my 93 the driver's side foglight is back like half an inch to an inch further then the passenger one which is perfect ...

The car was hit, but not in the bumper

Thanks for the help... I thought maybe the foglight bracket was bent, but I got one from another car that was good maybe something else in there could be bent??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ouch, are you sure that didn't tweak the frame? That would tweak everything on the drivers side back some since that's where it was hit and bent in. I still say take a close look at how they are mounted, if they are mounted correctly and the bracket isn't bent (It's a piece of work, like I said I doubt it would bend) then the metal bumper is tweaked behind the bumper cover. If the frame on the drivers side is bent it's going to carry through to the metal bumper since that's what it mounts to. Popping that front cover off and taking a look at if the bumper is square would probably be the best way to tell and give you full access to the foglights.

Cool

Since the car is built on a Unibody platform, Unfortunately, that kind of a hit causes a hidden problem for most people. The entire undercarriage has been bent, and is no longer true.

It shouldn't be *too* different than the newer ones. Three screws in each of the front wheel wells, two nuts on each fender (it comes down behind that cover), two bolts behind the corner lamps, then you just need to figure out what's holding it on underneath and between the headlights.

You'll basically be looking at something like this when you are done.

Once there you should be able to easily tell what's up.

These aren't the factory ones but if you see where the ziptie is that's where the stock foglight frame mounts to the metal bumper.

What I'm wondering is can I replace the metal support behind the bumper, or maybe I can bang it out some... I havent even looked at it yet though

1) Bumper cover
2) Support Support Right
3) Impact strip Bright
4) Reinforcement
5) Energy absorber
6) Energy absorber Brace
7) Bracket Bracket Right
8) Air deflector Front
9) Rear 3.8 liter To 5/91
10) License bracket

If #4 itself is bent, you can replace, it (couple hundred new). If something behind #4 is bent, you'll need to get that pulled out since that's the front frame.

It is welded.

Is it just the angle of the picture or is the drivers side one really that much lower than the passenger side?

Get a ruler or something and measure from the tire to the fog-light on either side.

Theres about a 2mm difference one being closer then the other

On the other hand... now I can paint the bumper cover and fix the one horn that doesnt work and I get to use my tow ropes and sledgehammer - lol

Then it's probably the subframe underneath that is still a little tweaked.

I'm going to see what I can do to get it up further ... now that I got the bumper off I started sanding it to prime and paint it

Make sure you use a flex agent in that primer and paint or it will just peel off if it gets bumped.
