Hydraulic Fluid = WTH!!!

I knew hydraulic fluid is sometimes used to for other things, but this is a new on!!!

I guess if it looks like hydraulic fluid, smells like hydraulic fluid, and feels like hydraulic fluid, it must be..... surgical cleaning fluid!!!

How could it cause joint pain?? In theory, wouldn't hydraulic fluid keep you lubed up?

Jay

These are highly engineered precision vehicles, the first step in diagnosing the problem is to strike the suspected offending part sharply and repeatedly with a blunt object, then re-test.

Haha, I work at the other big Hospital system here in Raleigh. I remember when that happened. Our sterile processing department had to do massive inventory and research to prove that we didn't run into the same problem. And we didn't thank god.
In theory, it should not cause any problems. The fluid was used to clean the surgical instruments and then they were sterilized in the autoclave, which will kill anything on it and remove all traces of the fluid. I still wouldn't want anyone operating on me with that stuff though.
