Little things that Ford does to annoy you

I've always been a huge ford fanboy, but I have to admit, there are some things that just plain annoy me about ford's business practices

1. Cars like the Falcon GT and the new European focus that will probably never see american streets.
2. Ford's blind insistance of keeping the Mustang the only performance offering in their lineup. We don't even have the lightning anymore.
3. The decision not to produce the SVT Thunderbird. What's your problem ford!
4. The fact that dodge fanboys get to see the Charger run in NASCAR and what do we get? The Fusion. THE FUSION. Dodge runs their market competetior to the Mustang, and Ford runs it's competetitor to the Honda Accord. Thanks ford.
5. Ford's decision to drop the SHO from the Taurus lineup. Although the thing was hideous in it's last form.
6. Dropping the SC. I would have liked a Superchager in my 96, thanks.
7. They replaced the Bronco with the Expedition. great.
8. The fact the a turbocharged, AWD Fusion will probably never exist. (Hey, I'd want one, they made a AWD SC didn't they?)
9. The Vulcan 3.0 engine. Yeah, it lasted 250,000 miles until my truck was totaled, but that was because the only thing it was faster than was my buddy's 81 Mercedes Turbodiesel.
10. The new thunderbirds. And the fact that you hyped up the fact that it was going to be in that Bond movie, and it was onscreen for a total of 2 SECONDS.

Post your little gripes about you favorite car comany

Their electrical systems and their insistance in pushing non-performance vehicles when it's obvious that that's where the domestic car market is heading. Reminds me of the muscle car era, when GM and Chrysler had more hi-po cars than you could count on one hand, and what did Ford have? The Mustang is a PONY car. A little different. Anyhow, I think they're missing this boat as well.

How about they keep the Mustang as their pony car, and take the s197 platform, stretch it, drop a 5.7 with a 5 or 6-speed gearbox, use the new cobra's IRS setup and you have the new thunderbird. A direct contender for the Charger's market too. But it won't happen, don't want to take the fire away from the Mustangs.

how bout that nice highbeam/lowbeam switch on the floor in the early 90's F250's causing a fire. or not using a relay in the headlight switch on early mn12's, leading to headlights that flicker when it gets real hot.

Not bringing the Aussie Ford's to the states (I want a GT-P in the worst way).

Babying the Mustang like it is the savior of Ford.

Not rectifying the 3.8 head gasket issue for over a decade.

Only promoting their one or two best sellers and saying "to hell with the rest"

The cupholders in the MN-12's (someone had to say it).

Killing the Tempo (I love those little cars).

That's all I can think of.

My complaints are

They didnt advertise the probe as much as they should have. Its a fun car to drive, and it looks awesome.
Giving europe the cool cars
discontinuing the bird to make a point to the lorain workers.
Making too many sedans
not having more rwd cars
not having more black interiors
not having a 2 seater car except for the GT which noone can afford

I almost bought a 1st gen probe GT with a 5-speed before I found the bird, the turbo probes were pretty cool. It had the digital dash too. Yeah, that's right, I said I liked the digital dashboards.

1. ford having the mentalilty the mustang is their crown. its not, its nice, but its not the best they can do.
2. making ****ty retro looking cars, when the ones before them were perfectly badass(99-04 stang compared to 05, 94-97 tbird compared to the 00-04 whatever retro crap)
3. not having a strong turbocharged competition for the srt4, evo, sti and whatnot thats most popular today. the aussie lineup would fit right in, especially the rwd ones for those initial d kiddies.
4. crappy cupholder placing. cmon, if i put anything in the cupholder on the stang, you cant hit 2nd, 4th or Reverse without gouging your arm with the soda can edge.
5. el cheapo interior. cmon, how hard can it be to mold plastic that fits right and is sturdy?

i still believe ford needs a 2 seater, rwd sportscar utilizing a 5.4l motor and 6spd tranny to compete with the likes of the vette, and around 30-35 grand. i mean, ford doesnt even have anything stock capible of beating the GTslO right now, let alone the vette. shouldnt have stopped the 03/04 cobras, best thing ford had done since the 60's was create the 03/04 cobra.

ford also needs to bring in something to compete with the import crowd. the focus is only considered a sport compact by the ricers. i call it a hatchback econobox, and would never consider one a performance vehicle, even the svt/saleen/roush whatever crappy one ready for nitrous(but will void factory warranty when used, stupid ****)arent fast. maybe if one came in awd form and 250hp out of a turbocharged I4 and had lots of headroom for improvements(ie block can take lots of boost, fuel system can put out enough fuel, ecu doesnt have any strange fuel cut or spark issues when bumping power up). but until then its just a focus, for those with A.D.D who need to focus when driving. bring the aussie vehicles over. i guarantee that if they brought the Falcon GT over, itll sell out faster than the 05 stang GT's did.

1994 Tbird 4.6l, 3 trannies later and still bone stock.

Beancounters.

I hate how when a new model comes out, it's loaded (or can be) with every feature under the moon. Then, a few years go by and sales aren't as strong, gee, lets see what we can pilfer out of this car to save us $0.003 per unit.

I mean, come on people! The glove box damper!!!!

1. STUPID, take the engineer out back and beat the crap out of them, engineering!!!

--1a. A billion bolts to hold on a water pump (vs. Chebby’s 4!!)
--1b. Not using a relay for the headlights… yeah, lets put a high current draw item through a switch…
--1c. Different wiring harnesses by one wire between a manual and automatic TurboCoupe (how did that get past the bean counters!??!)
--1d. Blend door on the Mark VIII!!!
--1e. Different bellhousing bolt patterns… between identical engines!!!
--1f. Etc., etc., etc…
2. HORRIBLE service at the dealerships!!!
3. Total refusal to correct obvious design flaws… intake, switches, etc.
4. 500,000,000 options/packages for a F150, but only 3 for a Mustang. WTF!!
5. “I’m sorry, that part is discontinued…”
6. The TFI module…
7. Lack of a true sports car (something to compete with the Vette in both production numbers, performance, and price!)

Those are just off the top of my head.

the problem is the dealerships no longer want topay the required dollar to keep good help , and they dont dont want to get rid of their old *** stale employees either . when i lostmy job in july, my immediate manager offered up the 2 guys in the back, one had been there for 30 + and one had been there just about a year . so they kicked out the guy who , one just wanted a little more money, did his job then some, and was the hardest working in the dept next tothe manager. and it hurts that ford corprate dosnt really have a true say of waht goes on in the dealerships as far as customers service /relations

Innovating and not talking about it in some areas, and in areas that everyone notices, not innovating in the slightest.

Their sketchy handling of 6.0L PowerStrokes in the last few years has really served to shoot them in the foot, too.

Yeah, but you gotta remember: our cars were not designed for V8's. Origionally they were only suppose to have V6 (n/a and s/c). Which was not a great idea in the first place.

well, why does ford continue to drag out styling over decades, back in the 50's & 60's it was 3 and out, three years of a style and then a complete and total remake of a vehicle. the 58 tbird has 0 nada nothing in common with the 57, the 61 has nothing in common with the 60, same with the 64 vs the 63 and so on. the trend continued through the early early 80's then boom lets do a style for 8 LOOOONNNGGGG years, ya wonder why they stopped selling cars after a few years of one style, IT DIDNT CHANGE. Take the mustang, the fox mustang for all general purposes was the same car from 79-93 14 years of the same thing. then a face lift in 94 so 94-04 is generally the same car, so what if the body lines are slightly less round and more edgy, its still the same thing.

i want the ford 49 built that was a nice concept.
i want the euro awd turbo focus
i want the ausi boss 390
i want the headlight switch to be illuminated come on you gotta use that thing in the DARK light it up so i can find the dang thing.
i want people to quit *****in bout the new 02-05 birds and stop comparing them to the 89-97 cars, come one, you had the mn12 for 8 years give it up already.
