How to make extra money.

Ok, so my wife and I have a new baby at home. She is not going back to work, she's staying home to raise the baby. Well, my income is enough to pay bills and stuff, but it doesn't leave me any car or play money.
Do any of you know of a legitimate "make money from home" method? I've seen a lot of these online and they all seem like scams to me. I just want something to give me some money to mod my car and just extra cash to play with.
I thought about working part time at the new Advanced Auto Parts that is opening near my house, maybe get some good discounts. But, I already work around 60 hours a week at my current job and the last thing I want to do is drive to another job and work 20+ hours there. That and I don't want to be away from the house 7 days a week.
So, like I said, do any of you have any good suggestions to make some extra cash? If any of you local guys know of something in the area let me know.

I really really really really want to start modding my car! I have driven beaters so long, I finally get a good car to mod and now I don't have the money.

If done properly, selling things on eBay can be a VERY lucrative business. As long as you do research on the items you sell, AND automate the selling aspect to it's fullest extent, you can make some decent money. You just have to streamline the process a lot so you’re not spending a lot of time doing it… which can really eat into profits.

I have a few friends that their wives sell things on eBay and they do ok. Not a huge amount of money, but enough to play with.

The other option is to find another job that pays more. From what I've been told, if you are not changing jobs every 3 - 5 years, you are not progressing....

Just my .02 and good luck.

You could set up an explicit site out of your house. Not moral, but legit.

Just kidding. My best friend has a full time programming job with good pay, but needed some cash. He does delivery for a sandwich place near here. Get's min wage + $2/delivery + tips. He's averaging about $11/hr. Not bad for a second job.

Any of those online things are just scams. The best "from home" thing you can do is ebay. No joke. Go to garage sales by yourself with your wife for a family outing on saturdays. Find anything of value for cheap. Sell it on ebay.

Tips, - charge plenty of shipping. I bought a $3 item with $3.95 shipping the other day. Just don't go crazy.
- Ship quickly with a reliable carrier. You need to keep a high rating.
- Refund quickly if customer not satisfied. Keep that rating up.

good luck

Yeah, over the past month I have turned in 20+ resume's and applications. That was my first thought too, just get a better job. Still no news with those so I was thinking of other options.

So, what they heck would you sell on ebay? I mean, I don't really have a whole lot of stuff sitting around my house that I could sell, and make money at least.

Good luck in this area. I'm looking for a different job, even if it's the same pay and the ones that are out there have raised the requirements a lot. I mean a Masters Degree for entry level systems admin? Wow, the dot com bust really screwed up the tech area.

Yeah, I have a crappy tech school degree as a PC tech, and no one wants to hire me. I've still got about 4 semester before I get my BS, so that sucks! And this area has gotten terrible!

Go hit garage sales for ebay treasures. If a rubiks cube goes for $12+6.50 shipping, you can make money. Just go around finding deals. Weathier middle class neighborhoods have the best stuff. Sell off the kids' stuff for nothing.
