Mike Siska's (EECDOC) car. I have not seen the article yet but many in the mid-atlantic area have seen the car run.

Not bad for a 2v huh?!

Unless he's changed anything lately, I think he's still running ported 2v heads, and the AED race blower setup intercooled lysholm style twin screw.

I can't find that mag around here, I was going to try to by the one with Bruce's 392 Bird as well.

I subscribed to it, but not getting it yet.
Sounds pretty interesting, and they put more Mn12's / FN10's than any other mag I've heard off.

Although MMFF does have a once a year event with the Luxobarge shootout sometimes.

Last time we had someone in there (392bird), the editor of the magazine asked that scans of the article not be posted for awhile (I'm assuming until that issue is off the shelves). . . so you might want to hold off on posting them. Someone else jump in here and correct me if I'm mistaken.

Yeah I was billed for payment, I faxed in the payment slip yesterday with a request to buy the August 05 issue (392 Bird) and the February 06 issue, unless they knew of a local newstand selling it, then I'll buy the Feb. issue locally.

Any other issues with Mn12's or otherwise noteworthy / worth purchasing?

So far the only Thunderbirds we have featured have been Bruce's and Mike's. We do have Thunderbird tech articles from time to time; the next issue will document my Cobra brake swap. And yes, please refrain from posting any scans until the issue is off the newsstand. Glad to hear people dig the mag, I think the February issue is by far the best one yet.

I skimmed that article the other day. Real impressive ride. One thing I dislike are the cages in cars. I know they are necessary, but they look so bad in my opinion. Otherwise, sweet-a$$ ride.

I'd love to put a Thunderbird in every issue, but they're just harder to find than Mustangs. I can't come close to promising one per issue, and honestly, I wouldn't want it to be that formulaic anyway. When I find Thunderbirds nice enough, I will shoot them--that I can promise. This next year I'll be at WFC, Carlisle, probably Fab Fords Forever and a bunch of FFW and NMRA shows, so I'll be on the lookout.

Currently, our magazine doesn't have a website, but our parent company's site is buckaroocommunications.com. If you'd like to subscribe or get a back issue, call 866/515-5600 and our customer service people can help you out.

Thumbs up Thanks Will!!!

I'd like to thank Will Smith for the excellent photography and article on my Red Car. You would not beleive it but it was near dark when the large front and rear shots were taken. His photo skills speak for them self. I am honnerd to be in the Feb. 06 Supercharged issue!

Don Teeple, you are correct on my setup. Still plugging along with the 2V. I guess I've always taken the less traveled road in life.

Johnnyx, I fought putting the cage in the car. It wasn't till in 04 when the car started buckling the roof and the tracks were canning my runs due to saftey reasons that I added it. It may be ugley to some but at 130 mph it is a real comforting item to have. Also the 5 point harness gives you a nice hug on the top end when you climb into the brakes. It is one of those needed items at this point.

I've had so many poeple come by the car at the different tracks I've run at, and tell me " it's so nice to see something different out there running". Like I've said before, there are lots of fast Mustangs, but very few fast T-Birds!!!!!!!!

Thanks again.

mercutio, I'm assuming the magazine also covers Lincolns and Mercurys, is that correct? I may need to meet up with you at WFC to show you a certain XR7.

Looks like I need to subscribe to another magazine.

Hey Mike good to see you floating around!!!!

Yes, that is one fast ride!!!!

Nothing wrong with the road less traveled, I still remember when the stang-bangers were giving you crap about having a Tbird at the modular shoot-out, when your car was just setup and not really completely dialed in yet.

I guess theyre not laughing now!!!

I can just see the look on their faces when you stuff a 10.5 run down their throats.
Hahaha. All in a good time, that must be half the fun! hehe.

Thanks for all the help with my car, I still have some nice 99 Cobra rear hubs on my car sent from a very nice and helpful MN12 owner!

Mike's always been a great racer and fellow MN12 supporter, nice guy!

Oh, BTW,
I don't know if you saw this one yet, are you coming down to the SuperCoupe Shoot-out in Ohio? Should be some good competition there, a twin turbo 347 of Dave Neiberts, there is a seperate V-8 outlaw class.

Only mn12's and Fn10's will be there.

Here is the thread with the location in Ohio...

http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69380

Here is the rules thread,
http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71597
basically anything goes in the v8 class, other than safety equipment, and you already have the rollbar.

Would be a good event for Ford Builder to cover!!!

I'm sure I'll get my butt handed to me down there, as I'll just be making my first shake down runs by then (if I'm lucky).

I just need to finish my car, and find a trailer in case I break a half shaft, haha.

Hope you and I can make it!

I owe ya a cold beverage one of these days!

Take it easy,

-Don

Don is right, it would be really nice to have magazine coverage of the SC shootout this year (this will be the 4th Annual).

Not to be picky, but Neibert's car is a single turbo 347, not twin.

Very Nice Mike. That is one Kick *** car. Will is doing a Great Job, and it will be very hard to top Mikes car. I agree with you on the roll bars. I did not want one in my bird since it is a weekend play car, not drag car, but wife wanted me to put one in, and the trip to the strip in late October clinched it. I was told to have one when I returned if I wanted to run it again. The roll bar and connectors are in the plans for next month.

Great Job!!!

The 2006 SC Shootout will be held September 30-October 1, at Kil Kare Speedway Park in Xenia, OH, which is close to Dayton. Dyno competition will take place Saturday morning and the gates of Kil Kare Speedway will open at 9:00am Sunday morning.

Knowing Mike as I do and running with him over the years has always been fun and an experience.

We have been around and doing this for a long time. There is not another Streetable MN12 car in the country that I know of that can begin to compare with that one with a 2V 4.6 PI motor and single power adder. The numbers speak for themselves!

The car for those that have never seen it is just spotless. When he does work he does it right. I know myself first hand with help he's done on mine.

I truly expect it may be possible this year to see the first IRS T Bird in the 9's. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for that. I know if its possible, Mike will be the one to do it.

I remember years ago in NMRA seeing cars 800-1000# lighter than Mikes not turning those kind of times and certainly not street legal. These platforms and the ones that choose to mod them have made great strides in where we are today.

As far as Will and "Ford Builder Mag" is concerned, what a great magazine. For those that have never met him he's definately a "Bird" guy at heart but enjoys all the cars. He spends a lot of time photographing and capturing the cars he covers. And a real nice person to speak and be around as well. Will, I wish you and the Publication much continued success.

I expect we'll be seeing a lot of Will and the "Big Red Car" among others by the end of this coming season.

Best regards to you Mike on the "Beast" you have created. Now for those 9's!

Thanks for the kind words, Steve. As for the SC shootout, my schedule that weekend is open. I will pencil it in, and unless my boss tells me I must be elsewhere, plan on seeing me there for coverage. That means all you guys better show up with your cars--the more cars there, the better the event will look in print.

I hope 100's show up for this. I will be there, as well as a few others from the SCCoO. Dave has done a bang up job organizing this, and needs all our support. BTW, I think we met at Carlisle last year. Black '95 from Canada????

OK GUYS!!!!
Yes you guys should start a new thread on modular v-8 attendance, a new class would be great for your guys to compete in.

Of course you can always bracket race as well, but I'm sure a 4.6 N/A class would be competitive and fun.
