racing on temp tires

soo does any 1 use the spare thunderbird tires as front runners?
i have herd of using the mark rims but not stock tires and bird rims

a couple people do it. Just change the tires to better rated ones like blown38 said.

Most tracks don't care...

96 v8 4.6 explorer, kooks headers, off road x, magnaflow mufflers, cl tb/plenum, lmaf, gt tube, xcal tune, alum shaft, 3800 dirty dog converter, darrin trans, 373 gears, hoosier slicks on fanblades, pbr brakes, Skinnies on front, No PS or AC, Aeromotive EWP, major weight removal (3380 LBS), 12.78 OLD COMBO.

Some tracks do care. I attempted to run two 16" minispares on the front of my T-Bird at Milan, and they failed me at Tech. I ended up buying two 16" aluminum spare wheels and mounted M&H Frontrunners on them. By the way, those have worked out very nicely.

I run the spare rims up front with 165R 15's on em.

don't try and run the 60mph tire.....

I use the wheels with 165r15 tires also.

I have 2 sets, one for my car which are 15 inch steel spares with DOT rated tires. The other set is 16 inch markVIII aluminum spares with DOT rated tires. Sadly the aluminum are heavier because of tire choices. I do believe M&H makes some that fit properly but they are quite expensive.
