my first 1/4 mile run with the silver slut

me and ron had a pretty good track day
http://forums.tccoa.com/vbpicgallery.php?do=big&p=3951

the car number they put on the windshield of the slut was 69 ...they must have known

not too shabby for running on street tires.

60'---1.978
330---5.194
1/8---7.869
mph---91.60
1/4---12.177
mph---114.08

this was full weight with 3/4 tank gas, and about 100 pounds of crap in the trunk. we ran on riken raptors 255 50 17
I'm sure TM will chime in with some pics, and maybe a couple vids

Not bad.. Just kidding! Great job! Is it quite the rush to feel the car accelerate that fast?

Yea, we had a great time. Thanks so much to Blake for letting me take a few runs in the Slut.

I think the best I managed was a 12.3 or 12.5 with the slut, all in all the track prep was pretty good. I'll upload some pix tomorrow.

We were both lamenting the lack of drag radials. I nearly beat a Mustang that was running drag radials with the street tires that the slut had on it. That was awesome!

I even qualified the rental car. lol

The stock Nissan Altima ran a best of 16.2 at 86.58

Ok, here are a few of the pix I took. These weren't taken with my best camera so they're not the greatest.

There's probably a few good videos on my GoPro. The office Olympus camera videos look like crap.

I'll sort through them when I get home next week.

I just looked through them; I got a few good ones of you at the line. The GoPro isn't any good at a distance so once you left the line there isn't much to see.

Wow...those are very impressive numbers for street tires ! Last time I tried racing on my street tires I couldn't do better than a 13.2.

you probably have a lot more low end torque than i do so you spun more. the vortech likes higher rpms so you don't spin as bad as you would with a roots or twin screw. less power down low, but when the boost comes on you better be ready for it...LOL. I can't wait to feel a real launch with some real tires. I got a little taste, as the track was really sticky, so i did get much more traction than i do on the street. From what the past owners say, this car is a low 11 second car. I can't wait till I can match or better her fastest run so far!

Well what was different? Cause your mph is way off, tires will help a little, but not 10 mph just asking? U got a lot of power to gain

as far as i know nothing has been changed. i do weigh about 80 lbs more than him, I had the spare tire and jack, about 100 lbs of tools and misc crap in the trunk, nearly a full tank of gas, and no drag radials. so i guess 250-300 lbs more in the car+ no traction for most (if not all of) first gear. I think that is the only difference.

+ the oil blow by issue.

There was a lot of oil going into the blower. It was dripping off of the blower intake so bad that the track guys thought he had a brake fluid leak.

After looking through the videos I'm surprised I didn't see the motor burning more of that oil off. Once you get that fixed and cleaned you'll need to check and/or replace the plugs.

I'll put those videos together and try to get them posted up this weekend.
