NMRA Exedy Modular Muscle

Decided to take the car down to MIR this weekend for NMRA Mod Muscle Class. Not a great weekend for me.

I had problems with the fuel pump all weekend until we got that sorted out Sunday morning. Found a loose wire from the fuel pump relay finally that morning. Fixed that. Some driver errors as well during qualifiying on Saturday along with it. Best qualifying pass was a 12.54 on the Little shot, hitting the limiter in 2nd gear then the motor dying (Fuel). Finally got things together and put the 125 shot back in for Sundays elimination round. Did my normal burnout pulled in and staged, Light went green, hammer down, jacked the tires and BANG!!! Sheared off both Halfshafts. So that ended a horrendous weekend. What I would have given to have that run.

Regardless of the problems I had a great time though.

Spent some time with Chris (Blown38) and Pops. If Chris jumps on here he can fill you in on his weekend but to sum it up he did really well in brackets both days. Pops racked up trophies both days with the Lincoln and the Marauder. A good weekend for them.

I also got a chance to meet R429460 on the TCCOA Forum. He had a slightly better weekend in Modular and got to the second round in his Cougar before being eliminated. I invited him to Summer Blast of course! His car ran pretty well considering the hot, humid conditions and headwinds during Saturday's Qualifications round.

Below is a pic of a launch on Saturday by NMRA. I'm sure Chris may have some vids/pics to post up of the 1MTNCAT and some of his own as well.

Here is the link:

Maybe I'll have things sorted out better next time!! You'll have these days! (LOL)

Here you Go!

Check this site out and go to Sunday round 1 video's!

About the 5 Minute mark they get into Exedy Modular Muscle Class. R429450 is at around 5:50 and mine just after the 6:00 Mark. I wish I knew how to slow it down and look at the launch but there it is!

Enjoy all of it. Great shots from the NMRA staff!!

You have that right. I haven't been on a track that hooks that hard in quite a while.

I'm still picKing all the stone out of the tires from rolling it down the drive way to the garage. It actually pulled paint off the trailer bed LOL!!!

Thanks for all the help from you and pops this weekend and especially for finding that fuel issue. Hopefully that's resolved permanently now.

I'd of loved to had that pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL axles break at the same place, the weakest part. Right where the splines start to spline into the hub.

Some believe the SC axles are better, but they arnt, they still break at the same spot even though the shaft is thicker.

First, nice to see the pair of Cougars break up the monotony of the endless sea of Mystangs. Way to represent guys! Sorry for the broke stuff though.
Second, whoever edited that video needs to be on the ground for a good old-fashioned Boot Party. Am I the only one who thinks it's absolutely ridiculous that there were no full runs (and times) shown until the Pro Outlaw 10.5 class? Why did they even bother putting all those launches in the vid?

Agreed. Way to represent guys!

More Mustangs after more Mustangs ... how boring.

No you're not the only one. I was like where the heck are the times?

I think showing the few extra seconds it would've taken to finish the runs and show the time would have added no more than two minutes to the length of the video.

I could have done better producing a video for them.

Rick,

I didn't get down to the booth to get one. I know it was green but not sure how good or bad. There was a lot going on instantly LOL! Looking at it I may have been a bit late on it but I'm not sure. Maybe it will be published on line on their site since it did break the beam.

***Looks like this could be my light on the 1st round of eliminations. It was against the same car so I'm assuming that is it since it has the RT and Dial, with no run data. I was late on the tree for sure if thats the case unless they were using the qualifier numbers since I didn't make the pass.
7 MM 7 JOE MARINI CLINTON MD 05 MUSTANG FORD 322 .065 10.64 11.461 85.93
7030 MM 16 STEVE DUGAN HEDGEVILLE WV 96 COUGAR FORD 281 .290 12.45
Looks like he was running a stroked & blown 4.6.

I pulled the tires off last nite. Both shafts are broken even with inside of the hub as is normally the case.

Justin, Chris ran the bracket class not the index/headsup classes and he ran very well. Weather condition were certainly much better on Sunday than on Saturday. His car picked up a good bit of ET on Sunday. He knows how to run the car. It was consistant both days and ran up to the top qualifiers of the class each day.
