Bring it up here and let RobertP work his magic on that tune. He really knows how to tune these cars. I guarantee he could shave a few more tenths off your quarter.

Ok, the new best for Cougar Jet VI is 11.77 @ 113.20.

This was supposed to be run in November, but things happen.

This was don't with 237 lbs. taken out of the car.

Weight without the driver was 3268.

N/A with a 90 MM MAF.

This was the first pass since 7-31-17 in Joliet ILL.

The next pass was an aborted run due to an axle issue.

My opinion based on my cougars history is 11:60's probably and 50 with a strong tail wind.

1.61 60', 7.447 @ 91.47 60'.

I've been neglecting this thread. Now that I've got some new times of my own I promise to update.

I could not get the car to hook so I had to nurse it off the line. The new engine is making more torque than my drag radials can handle. I've got to get some taller tires. Unfortunately I can't drive AND shoot video so unless Rob or his son got some video of these passes I don't have any videos to share.

Made a few runs today with the new build and set a new personal best. The car is super consistent and if I can ever get it to hook will put down an 11.0 or maybe even a 10.9xx ....

11.335 @ 122.43
11.336 @ 122.61
11.348 @ 122.87

Great runs Ron! That could be a bracket car. And it was great meeting you. How many runs did you make total? I could have sworn it was at least 15, counting the couple that Ricky made. I did see one of the 11.33 runs, I saw the scoreboard on the way out.

Speaking of Ricky, he had to have made 30-40 passes in 4 or 5 different cars! He had to switch from fully automatic, manual valve body, and clutch! He set several records in Rob's Cobra.

Thanks Al! Great meeting you too! So glad you could make it down to join us.

I have time slips for 17 runs but only posted the top 10. Yea, Ricky was busy. He's a good driver; he'd have figured my car out soon enough but only make two passes with it. I really wish I had the tires that he has on his Mustang. I should have spent more time shooting videos of Rob's Mystichrome. That car's amazing.

Do people still Clorox tires for more grip, or is that outlawed now?

If you have to buy new tires...

It turns the outside into a porous looking sponge, but it grips like crazy, and eats tires like crazy.

It was a 60's- 70's thing.

I'd bet the track owners put the kibosh on that; it eats the track too.

They used to call the burnout box the Clorox box.

I'm sure it would eat everything up - including paint. They just spray the dip before you drive onto the track with water from a garden hose. Plain and simple.

The tires have come a long way since the 60's and 70's. Shit, that was almost 50 years ago now.

I've never had one, I wish. It would sit nice on my PI headded 98 GT.
