Thanks Jeff.... I hope to hit 14's with the cool weather using my slicks & skinnies. I have to stop by Steve's house in WV to borrow a jack so should be at the track by 8-9am. Sure you can't make it out? I know it's short notice but anybody free tomorrow to go ? So far it looks like it will just be me, Liz has a lot of school work to do and can't make it.

Not bad Chris, I wish I had slicks and skinnies as well. My MPH and 60 foot are indicative of wheel spin. I'm hoping to get into the low 13's soon.

Nice times! Pretty good with a 3.08 gear! Do you know what she runs with street tires? Curious of the difference the slicks made for you.

I'm going to make another trip to the track this fall when it cools off a little more. I just wish my track wasn't so dang high up! 1800 ft elevation times suck!

I ran [email protected](90* weather) with my street tires which are 255/55/16's('97 chrome sport rims) so the slicks REALLY helped...but it was in the 70's today and the air was great. Just wish I could have used my skinnies

Mods are all in my gallery. Cams, flat top pistons, forged crank, lightly ported heads and intake manifold, lasota tune adjusted excessively (shift points and timing only) 91 octane, a p.o.s. converter from a known vendor here that had to be completely reworked locally after it failed, fins are hand tig welded, kevlar apply piston, 3000 stall, built j-mod/j-spec transmission, 3.27TL rear end, tokico 1.25" drop springs, tokico blue shocks, 255/50/17 Nitto 450 rear tires, 255/50/17 Nitto 555 front tires.

I need a better flowing intake manifold, headers, (because my cams are running out of flow at the top end), 4.56's, a better converter (planning on a Circle D multiplate 3800 or 4000 stall), SCT PRP/Retune, and slicks and skinnies. What I've been drooling over is the Vortech T-trim but that will be last.

Recently it's been sitting because I got hurt at work and can't race. I also had been focusing on getting my 1996 Sierra K2500 454 extended cab long bed completely sorted to be a reliable tow rig for my bird. The truck was a complete basket case when I bought it, it's almost done, just finishing details are left. Soon as it is done and I'm better I'll be getting back to work on my birds.

Chris, you really need to go 4:30's if you are planning on running good times with the car as I mentioned yesterday. Especially NA. The converter and gears will yield the best results especially with a tune. For a bone stock drivetrain, exhaust manifolds and 3.08 gears it ran very well. You should be very proud of it.

All you guys running street tires, check out the 60 ft times on the stock motor and the consistency of the launches setting up the whole run. Same will be true with a converter and gear once you have the tires and suspension dialed in. He's running 26 X 10X 15's slicks as well which are a little shorter and slightly help the overall gear ratio. Also running through the stock airbox, filter and exhaust manifolds. I haven't checked to see what the air density was yesterday but as I told you the last time Chris the car was well into the 14's in good air with some traction. I expect it could possibly see a 14.5 or better later in the year in yet cooler air. You need to get a couple fall runs at Cecil or MIR in good conditions and see what it will do.

You need to see if you can get a large enough spacer to run the skinnies up front and clear the Mark VIII brakes or go to a set of 16 wheels and skinnies. That too will be worth some ET and MPH.

Regardless, it ran well for what it is.

Right in line with yours actually lol. I run the 1/8th at 9.63 @ 77. On street tires and 3.73 gear, the rest of the mods are in my sig.

If I can get my 60' times to 2.0-2.1 then I should be able to get the mid to low 9s that I'm after. I'm just not sure if my street tires will pull it, especially now that my tread is getting pretty low. Slicks and more gear are on the list
