Joel Bender Memorial Nats -SB6 Aug 18-19, 2007

The Joel Bender Memorial Nats -SB6 will be held August 18-19th, 2007.

Cost this year will be $10.00 per person. That will help cover the cost of food, trophies, & other essentials.

Saturday will be the car show and Picnic. It will be held at the previous location at Lambert Park, Woodbury Avenue, Martinsburg WV. We once again will meet up at a designated area then be police escorted into town to the park. We will be heading to the park at 10:00 AM. Car show judging will be from 11:00 to 1:00 PM. Like in previous years, we will have mostly independent Judges. There will be the following Show classes:

Lincoln Class (All) (2 Trophies)
Thunderbird/Cougar Class (All - Except SC's) (3 Trophies)
Thunderbird/Cougar Class (SC's Only) (3 Trophies)

Depending on turnout, other classes may be added later.

We also plan to choose a "Best of Show", "Best Engine compartment", and the ladies favorite, "Best Stereo competition". (3 Trophies)

Member of the year award will be voted on by our own club members and a presentation to that person as well.
__________________________________________________ ___________________

Sunday will be the Drag Race day at Mason Dixon! We will once again have our own Cougar/Thunderbird class at Mason Dixon. There will also be a car show that day sponsored by the track since that is the ALL Ford Event. Contact www.Masondixondragway.com for more information on that.

Gates open at 8:00 am, cost is approximately $30 to compete. There will be trophies and cash awarded the winners and runner-ups! It is a dial in bracket racing competition, not heads up. Usually we get 2-3 initial passes before eliminations Begin.

I will be posting Hotel information and contacts as soon as I get further information.

As everyone knows, we put on a good show and have a great time during this event every year. We look forward to seeing everyone, and certainly new faces are welcome. This is the largest all MN12 weekend Event on the East Coast.

Hope to see everyone there.

How many people from NC/SC are planning on coming to this event. As fo right now Jenny and I plan on coming and I wanted to know what the plan was for travel. Is everyone going up Friday night, and if so what time? I did not know if everyone was caravaning up or just meeting up there? Let me know if any plans already exist and if not, then lets make some if there are enough people going.

Not Sure how many are going up or what time but Harriet and I took Fri and Monday off. I'll put some feelers out. Hopefully we'll have the bags modified and won't need the redneck transfer.

I'm going to ask off for Friday and Monday off also, Rick.

I'll be there.

She was driving the car, one thumb on the wheel; cigarette burnin, life to her was no big deal.
Her thin, white tanktop was almost see-thru; I've always been attracted to her dragon tattoo.

I'm also in the process of trying to Set-up a Dyno shootout from 4 - 7PM Saturday, after the picnic and car show.

I need 20 folks to participate and to help with negotiating prices. This is NOT a definate dyno event yet, but please make your wishes known on the thread at www.MAMN12.com, Calender of events forum. That way I can try to get a better deal on the rates. This is not guaranteed, just something I'm trying to get set up.

There is also a forum at our website to sign up and for those that have paid for the event. If you are interested, please check out that thread also and get hold of Jason and Karen for payment.

Hope to see everyone there.

SB6 Registration UPDATE

The Joel Bender Memorial Nats -SB6 will be held August 18-19th, 2007.

Cost this year will be $10.50 per person. That will help cover the cost of food, trophies, & other essentials.

See The Joel Bender Thread for Detailed Information.

I need a to start getting a head count for the Saturday Picnic as well as start collecting the $10.50 per person to cover the food and expenses Steve and Crew is working so hard to provide.

Thanks in advance for making the BEST Joel Bender Nats EVER!

After recieving the first couple paypal payments we realized that Paypal takes almost 50 cents out of every 10 dollar payment. So if you're paying by paypal we will need to charge $10.50 per person. Sorry.

Just an update.

I'm currently in the completion mode of getting things set up for this.

Just wanted to pass along that I'm planning a reception at my house on Friday evening the 17th for those that are interested in coming out.

Its an informal get together something that we've not done previously. Give us all a chance to shoot the bull for a while, Maybe enjoy a few beverages of ones choice, and just talk. We will also be finishing up getting things together for Saturday. If anyone is interested in attending my address is 116 Seldom Seen Ct Hedgesville, WV 25427.

It will begin at 6PM and end around 9-10 PM.

If you need further information contact me at the email address: [email protected]

Less than a week away and things are going well in the planning. For those that don't know we had a slight change in the location of the car show and picnic area but we will still meet at the same location as last year and cruise there. (Hopefully by Sheriff Department Escort once again).

For any of those last minute folks that may be interested we must have a final headcount and the money in for the picnic and show by Thursday evening. If you are interested please contact me via email.

************************************************** ***************************

The itinerary looks like this:

Ok folks, this is what the plan is!!!

FRIDAY Some will get in from out of town, stop by hotel and get situated.

6PM - 10 PM. Meet & Greet at my home. A little work maybe loading things up but otherwise, sitting, chatting, slammin a few maybe etc. Please bring your favorite beverage. We should have tea and or soda for those that choose that.
================================================== ===================

Saturday We will meet up in the Comfort Inn parking lot off of Edwin Miller Blvd at 9:45. We will be departing there approximately 10:30 then heading to the park. (Probably by police escort)!

Set up at park, registration and ready to show by approximately 11:15 am. Short meeting then judging will begin. Plan to complete judging by 1PM. Picnic will commence at 1PM -2:30 PM. 2:30-4:00 Awards ceremony & stereo contest. Once that is completed its whatever you choose to do.

Some stay put at the hotel, some gather and head to the car show at Valley Mall in Hagerstown, some go with the ADT later in the evening for a night out on the town. (YOUR OPTION)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday We will meet for breakfast at the Waffle house at approximately 7:30 am. That is just down the street from the Comfort Inn. We'll plan to leave there and head straight to Mason Dixon after breakfast. Once there, those that choose to enter the car show can get information and register there for that, the rest will register and run in the Cougar/Thunderbird class that is set up for us that day.

PLEASE INSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR YOUR ET. Also shoes and shirts are required to run and helmets for 13.99 and quicker. No cutoff/sleeveless shirts will be allowed.

We will bring what leftover food, drinks, etc to the track with us that day. Once that is over we can either head home of go eat at Ryan's prior to leaving for home. That is TBD and based on everyone's needs.

I'm looking forward to a great Joel Bender Nationals -SB6. Can't wait to see everyone.
