Summer Blast XIV | 2015

Sorry I didn't get this posted sooner. Here are the details of Summer blast for this year:

As of April 20 the plan will be to Hold the JBMN SB event on the weekend of August 21-23rd, 2015. We will plan on holding our Meet & Greet on Friday, MAMN12 car show, picnic, etc. on Saturday the 22nd and then attend the ALL FORD Car Show/Race Day at Mason Dixon on the 23rd Sunday.

There's been some talk about showing the cars at another car show that occurs at the same time as our planned show. We "party crashed" the other show last year when our plans to race got rained out. Racing this year is still planned.

I'm not going to make it this year as I chose to go to Carlisle instead and I'm not going to make two trips up there this year.

Here are some of our correspondences with the church group who hosts the other car show:
Quote:
May 27, 2015

It [the car show] will be Saturday, August 22, from 12-4pm with registration starting at 11am. [Attendance is free.]
They will provide us our own place to park so that we can all park together.
They are also going to contact some of the other clubs that will be attending to see if anyone would be interested in going to a test and tune session. If there is enough interest Steve may contact the track to see if they would be willing to open the gates for a test and tune session Friday night. Currently there is nothing scheduled on the track calendar for that day.

...

The car show location is the Martinsburg Mall who is having their Wing Off competition that day, there is also a food court in the mall so instead of doing the picnic we could just eat there. From what I remember there is a mini golf course inside the mall too in case some of the kids need something to do.

*** Schedule Update - August 17, 2015 ***

There's been a last minute schedule change due to the cancellation of the Speed Weekend car show at Martinsburgh Mall.

As it stands now the itinerary has been adjusted as follows:

Quote:
We will do breakfast at 9:30 at Golden Corral in Martinsburg as planned. Then around noon we will hold our own car show at the Comfort Inn parking lot. I will check with them tomorrow to insure that will be ok. If not I have another plan.

Saturday afternoon we can cruise to Hagerstown and attend the car show there at Valley Mall then head back to the hotel around 8PM. We will still have the award banquet/get together at the hotel Saturday evening with pizza-Subs-Chips, etc. The Room at the Hotel has been rented for this for that occasion.

Sunday will still go as Scheduled. Decent weather for August for this weekend with mid 80 temps and somewhat decent humidity for the All Ford Event at Mason Dixon.
Quote:
The itinerary will be as follows:

Friday night Aug. 21, 2015: Meet and Greet. 6PM - until?. Location TBD. Either at the hotel or the home of 1MTNCAT.

Saturday Morning/Afternoon Aug. 22, 2015:

I would love to go. If I can get the bird running satisfactory, I need the MN-12 exposure.

So who else is going? Hope to see a big turn out !! If you are on the fence about going, GO !! This is a great event and you WILL have a great time... to me it's like a mini carlisle. The club puts a lot of time and effort into this so lets see those birds, cougars, marks and other ford/mercury products. My sister from Pittsburgh,Pa may be coming this year with her 5.0...she has wanted to come for awhile but work has got in the way. I need a bird, cougar or mark to beat her at the track so my brother in law stops talking trash lol.
