I'm interested as well. It would also be a good opportunity for anyone in Michigan or nearby to take the Lake Michigan car ferry- https://www.lake-express.com/

Ya. I've never taken it before, but I've always heard good things. And the fact that it delivers right into Milwaukee is really nice.

I also just saw it used in the latest free episode of Roadkill. The guys used it to take the Draguar across the lake.

That raises a good point: should we expect a detailed inspection to NHRA rules? That didn't happen at the track in Kentucky used for the Shootout. Obviously, we want everybody to be safe, but if the track expects full compliance, I may not get to run more than once (no rollbar in a car that should now go much quicker than 11.49).

What's it take to make the battery legal?

I'm seriously considering it, but I only want to do it once. :)

So, effectively what we were talking about in MaddMartigans thread.

Cool.

Mike,

Copied this from the SCCoA thread. Hope this helps.

Joe

With the Shoot Out no longer happening we wanted to have an event to give everyone a chance to check out in person what others have done to their cars, see old friends, meet new ones, and just have a great time. This first post will be updated as more information becomes available.

Update from Rich on SCCoA

3/7/19

For those that want to get signed up it should be up and running very soon, or so my son says...lol. He has been the brains behind all tht stuff that has been posted.....so give him a big hand when you see him.....Rich
3/21/19

I have been working with the cruise place for sat night and we have worked out something great. they are willing to "rope off" a spot for us to park. In the past parking has always been an issue so I work this out for everyone... We will have our own place to park and that will make this go even better... that's all for now....Rich

Update from Rich on SCCoA June 6th:

The group of us are going to be sitting down this week to get the final design for our new shirts.. We want to make them something we all can wear with a good feeling. Also we will be getting the sign up set to roll out by the end of the month. We have already set up the dyno, track, hotel and cruise but I do have something else in the works for us on Friday night. So everyone stay tuned for more great stuff to come....your committee...

Just a couple things to update. Rich started a "Head Count" thread so you can see what members are coming. That is on the SCCoA forum, link on the bottom. Mostly Supercoupe cars I believe.

If you are coming from Illinois or South of Wisconsin and going to use interstate 94 West (But really North since your driving from Chicago to Milwaukee) please be careful. There is major construction on both sides and there are no shoulders to pull over on in case of an emergency. Especially if you plan to trailer your car. I would plan an alternate route.

Otherwise looks to be a good time, 16 people signed up so far and still less than two months away. Sign up is only 25 bucks. Obviously you pay for the dyno and track, but thats a bargain compared to the past SC Shoot Out Events. I will be there for sure with a cooler of beer to share. :zbeer:

Any questions you can contact Rich or Scott on the website. Any questions for me contact by email: oxbd64@hotmail.com

Dyno canceled, from Rich

"All,

We were just informed that there has been a sickness in the dyno operator's family and they will not be able to accommodate us for the Midwest Bash. We have talked to other speed shops in the area and have had no luck securing a dyno. We have decided that in lieu of the dyno there will be a car show with trophies in the parking lot of the hotel on Saturday. We apologize for this change in plans. If you would like to cancel your registration for the Bash because of this change let us know and we will issue you a refund. Thanks and hope to still see you at the Midwest Bash! Website has been updated to reflect this change.

Midwest Bash Planning Team"
