Better picture. This ones is broken too but it has a dash cover so you cant see it. Pretty clean truck for the most part. But since it is a 22 y/o truck still needs stuff. Front door speakers dont work, back glass slides open because the latch is broken off, carpet has stains. But nothing un fixable.

Had lunch for breakfast today. It was good food, but not $17+ tip good food. I could have made this at home for MUCH cheaper.

That being said, I decided to change it up a bit today and stop here on my way to one of our site offices (I was doing field work today) for lunch today and instead of going to the In-N-Out down the street from this office like I usually do. This little diner was across the street from the In-N-Out and I decided to support local business instead of a corporation. It was either this little diner or a Chinese food place right next door. Considering the prices of this little diner, next time I'll go to the Chinese food place.

BTW, my usual from In-N-Out is $8.62 and no tip needed.

That ain't much food for $17.

9 bux for lunch sounds about right tho, if that's a burger, fries, and a coke; I think micky D's is about $10 here, for a big burger, fries and cola.

In the morning, I usually do a bacon egg and cheese biscuit, a couple of the big hashbrowns, and orange juice in the morning on the way to work; I sit at my desk, eat, and read the fake news.

For a big breakfast:

We have Cracker Barrel restaurants here, and I usually spend close to $20, but it does not look like your pic; it's an artery-closing 4 pieces of breaded and fried cube steak, with 4 easy over eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and 6 biscuits, with brown gravy poured liberally over the top.

I add two pieces of steak, two eggs (eggs are how you want them), and additional biscuits, so it's about $20.

Man, am I hungry now, lol.

WEC, what's all that white stuff?

Not today, but rather Thursday. We all had interview for our one supervisor's position since he promoted out.

Another co-worker flipping me off in the back there. I heard him back there but didn't realize what was going on until I turned around, hence, my cracking up.

And of course, the inevitable selfie! I'm so millennial, lol.

So how’d the interview go? Did you beat those losers out for the position?

Interview itself went fairly well. The leg up I have on these two other caps is that another department within my employment organization has the same position open. Unlike them, I also interviewed over there whereas they only interviewed with our current department. So, I have potential options!

Two weeks before I leave for the 2019 Mexican 1000 with our two UTV team.
Here is our Wildcat XX almost race ready (we realized we need to swap springs to compensate for the added weight of our cage reinforcement, seats, and spare tire. Not enough time to revalve but my buddy needs to do some more desert testing to confirm he's dialed in the preload settings adequately).

From what i can tell, suspension tuning for uneven terrain is even more complicated than dialing things in for a road course.
The same seats we use for our lemons car fit pretty well though (Bimarco GRIP FIA rated Halo seats)

I can't wait.

Tuning off-road suspensions is way harder than track setups.

The biggest thing I remember was balancing the rebound damping so that it doesn't pump down the suspension over small rapid bumps.

A washboard section on a trail can help you tune for that type stuff.

The big problem is you want the lighter section of the springs to do the washboards, and if the damping is too high, each bump lowers the suspension, until it's in the hardest section of the springs, so it wants to bounce.

Too little damping goes right to the bouncing; as I said, it's tricky.

Of course, suspension and shock tech has gotten better since the 70's, lol.

I thought 14" of travel was incredible back then.

Did this over the weekend. No before pictures unfortunately. I will say though. I was shitting bricks when the blade was less than 3 feet from the power line (top line). I was also shitting bricks when I was standing in the middle of tree to cut some of the other branches leaning OVER the power line....

That was a big tree!

I'd cut it off about 3' up, flat, and make a breakfast table out of it and add some chairs; it being in the middle like that.

I wonder what the middle of the tree will look like. The back side of the tree is pretty far gone, which is why I'm wanting to get rid of it all together. I'll take pictures of the tree's backside and post them up later.

Trash came by today and I'll begin the process of cutting up all the little branches and putting them into the green bin. It'll be a few weeks before it's all gone. The small tree-trunk sized branches though, I'll see if anyone wants them as firewood later this year.

On the way to a Mopar show/drag race, I saw an 87 Turbo Coupe for sale on the side of the road out in the country. Don't see that every day!

It had new paint and the interior was in really nice, original shape, 117k miles. Alas, it was an automatic, which had a lower HP rating. It had no asking price.

EDIT: If someone is interested in this car, it's located in Hoffman, NC. I can PM the guy's phone #. It did say that two T-Birds came with it.

That's a nice Turbo Coupe. I'm always thinking about buying one of those eventually.

Finally got the Cougar out of the garage and "ready" for summer driving. (It still needs stuff but it's more or less okay.) Bought a set of SC wheels from a member here and they look great on the car. I'm looking at putting Cougar center caps on them, I found some that fit by trial and error but they need painted because they're bare aluminum.

So going to one of the field offices today, this motor home caught fire. On my way to this field office, I saw it on the side of the road broken down and the owner getting in and out from under the motor home doing whatever to try and fix it. He got a whole two blocks further before it caught fire. I didn't actually see it catch fire as I was already inside the building. I smelled the fire and asked one of the office staff people if they smelled fire. That's when they replied, "Yea, there's a car in front of the building that's caught fire."

I stepped outside and saw the motor home I had passed by not even 20min earlier engulfed in flames, lol.

I was at the dealership getting a SW update for my Prius (recall) and noticed that the Avalon looks like it comes "pre-dented" from the factory. Considering how I think the avg Avalon owner is 60+, it's probably not a bad design language.
Now, unlike almost every Camry you see, noone can tell when the old biddie backs up and pushes in the the corner of the rear bumper. The front isn't much better.
