Great pics. I remember driving by when I was a kid and it was always booming. Cars & vans filled that lot and watching them load onto train cars. Cool shit for a kid. I was in Lorain over the summer visiting family, it's so depressed up there now.

Yeah, Lorain is still recovering from the loss of the plant and all the steel mills. One of my clients is a school district on the far south edge of Lorain and the kids come from families with a wide variance in affluence. I haven't been up by the plant for a few years now, I kind of wonder how much it's changed since I took those pics.

Great pictures - still. Can't believe it's 5 yrs ago that you posted them. Is that your car that developed the rocker problems?

Yeah, driver's side. The "repair" the other body guy did consisted of putting a new piece of metal on over the damaged section; he never cut out the old stuff. The new body guy who's going to fix it this winter seems confident he can get it addressed - properly.

I remember you saying. It must be getting close to the time to get that done.

Yeah, I'm going to call him back up in about a month to see what his schedule looks like and to hash out some dates.

On a side note, I'll be spending a couple weeks in Ireland with the in-laws next summer. I've had plans to visit England not too long after that, since my ancestors lived in the Devon and Birmingham areas (depending which branch of the family tree I go up). I was even told one of them owned a florist's shop that prepared arrangements for Edward VII. If those plans ever come to fruition I might have to look you up.

That's weird, my ancestors came from those two areas too! I'm about 2 hrs from Devon and 3 from Birmingham (I'm down near Southampton). Definitely let me know if you decide to come over and I'll meet up with you somewhere. That would be great!
