Questions regarding putting the 232 on giggle gas

Well, I finially came across a 4.2 out of a 99 F150. He is going to be parting it out and will give me a deal for the engine later this summer. So I was thinking about putting a zex kit or similar on my car and see what it can handel. I'll already be buying larger injectors and fuel pump for the 4.2L down the road, and possibly using a Zex kit on it, so I figured why not try it.

My questions are...What size injectors should i run for a 3.8/4.2 with a 100 shot of nitrious? Neither will be supercharged/turbo'ed unless they make a drop in kit in the next few years for our car.

255LPH Fuel pump....Is this too big? if so will it hurt anything if the pump is too big, or is this just fine?

I'll be putting the nozzles directly into the runners. where exactly should i put them at on teh upper(or lower) intake? Does the location matter as long as the spray is going into the motor? I'll be using a wet kit btw.


Ive never really messed nitrious much, so excuse my noob-ness, but does anyone have a good website talking about tips on using it? Or a link to a page here? No offence, but all i see on tccoa is that most people are against it, and they jsut have oppinions that make it look bad. But any oppinions are welcome.

Usually with a dry kit you simply run the nozzle before the mass-air meter so the computer can compensate extra fuel.

I bought a wet kit just the other day comes with a plate system that sandwiches between the TB and the intake. I shoots fuel and nitrous together so bigger injectors are not needed... however a 155lph pump should be the minimum while a 190lph should be just fine.

remember,, most of these kits are rated 100 shot based on a v8! so on a v6 it would be a 125HP shot.

I am gonna start small (which is wise) and go with a 25-50 shot and see how it feels and then work from there.

Also,, I too and doing this on a 2001 4.2L in my 96' Tbird

place the nozzle close to the tb, not in front of the maf, dry kits work with fuel pressure and adds more to the fuel injectors that way, not through the maf

96 pearl white 4.6 tbird: rebuilt npi block with pi heads, pi intake, crower stage 2 cams, shm high lift springs, L-MAF, 3.73's, marauder converter, jmod, kooks headers, xpipe, no cats, 2.5 in exhaust, no mufflers, a dyno tune, lots of interior work, 1 in drop with lots of new bushings, 18 in rims. 279 hp 319 tq. curently running 13.9 at 101 mph with a 2.1 60 time in 100 degree weather while having some nasty spark knock. Soon to have higher stall, aftermarket intake manifold, weight reduction, and hopefully a nice shot of the giggle gas.

Explain to me how a dry kit adds more to the fuel pressure,, the only kit I've ever seen do that is possibly a ZEX kit,, every other kit does nothing but add N20 to the system

i think the nos kit also adds fuel by bumping up the pressure. go with zex the kit though, its awesome. probably the safest dry kit out there, simple to install and i got great results from it.

in my opinion:

best wet kit: nx
best dry kit: zex

NOS dry kits actually direct nitrous pressure into the fuel pressure regulator to crank the fuel pressure.

B Team - More skill, more results. A is only a starting point before progressing to B.

Member of the 'B-Team'. Finishing jobs the 'A-Team' can't handle.

someone get me a diagram of how it shoots nitrous pressure into the fuel pressure regulator.

the only way I've heard to do this is crank the pressure using a adjustable regulator.

go to their website or look at a n.o.s. dry kit installed on a car. they have a separate solenoid to increase fuel pressure just like average joe said.
