Window switch questions

i'm in the process of setting up a NX wet kit on my bird, and i'm kinda partial to my intake manifold, so i ordered a NX (pretty sure it's made by MSD) window switch. can someone explain to me what these tach adapters are all about? how do they work, and where do you wire them to?

also, i was digging through the forums here and found this thread which indicates that i can tap into the wire from pin #48 for a tach signal. could i do this instead of using the tach adapters?

Yes, you can hook the tach lead from the window switch straight to the white/pink wire coming out of the back of the gauge cluster. You don't need tach adapters. they're meant to change the signal from the coils to one the window switch can understand.

I had my EEC already on the floorboard so it wasn't too big of a deal to tap into the wire there. However you don't have much at all to work with, so I think taking the dash apart would be easier.

i still haven't gotten around to it, but yeah i've got the EEC dangling from the harness lying on the floorboard as well. there's not much slack to work with there, but i think i'll manage.

thanks
