id recommend NOT doing it like FordFanatic has it. heres why, nitrous when in the bottle is in a liquid form, what happens when you accelerate, within the bottle the liquid wants to move in the opposite direction, in this case to the rear of the car. the problem is with the pickup in the bottle, its angled toward the bottom of the bottle towards one of the edges. usually opposite the label on the bottle. so having the bottle perpendicular to the travel of the vehicle the liquid will not be submerged in the nitrous liquid.

so put the bottle parallel to the vehicle direction, label side up with the bottom facing the rear of the car
and putting it on the pass side allows you to run the line along the fuel line, gives you something to attach it to.

the way i mounted it was straight out of the zex directions so (i assume) the pick-up tube is angled to the right. so if you are going to mount it like i did make sure you read the directions so you don't run into a problem like vic is describing.

very nice guys i just needed some ideas for where to mount the bottle when i start sprayin'

I like the hidden install and Vic how do you like the compucar 5.0 kit did it fit well? Did you use the WOT switch it came with or did you use another one, because some complain about that switch. Hope it worked out good for you because i was looking at that kit.

Thanks guys!

it works good. and it is the 5.0 kit that i put on my 4.6 (i didnt notice any difference) i am using the compucar switch, its ehh, if i was out to buy one, i wouldnt get it id get something different but it came with the kit. it works. its kinda hard to setup to get it to open at full wot instead of half it took a little bit to get it mounted so it would work right at wot.

just be real careful with the wet kit, intakes and airboxes like to go boom from them.

look around on eghey or on md for a used kit. i picked mine up for around $300.

Alright im going to look around for a kit.
By eghey you mean ebay and by md you mean modular depot, just making sure.
Im going to look into the NX and ZEX kits, after what vic said. Seems like NX is supposed to make greater gains.

I think i made up my mind, since that post ^ i have been reading on the zex kit. Looked at the instructions and i could definately do it. Im talking about the #82015 kit by the way. I like how the solenoid and other parts are in the NMU and how the main switch is already assembled all the way.

FordFanatic I know they say it takes 2-3 hours to install, but how long did it take you to install? Im guessing it would take me like 4-5 hours lol.

I have my bottle exactly like vic's, and my battery is located on the other side of the trunk. My ZEX box is where the battery used to be, along with the rpm switch and adjustable rpm box, all my relays, and a distribution box.

I understand the theory of the liquid sloshing on acceleration and turning, and the bottle intake tube. This being said, can I use the brackets to mount the bottle upside down from the package tray in the trunk?

If you can't hear it before you see it...what's the point?

I dont see why it wouldnt work. Just swap the bracket around and flip it.

Well first let me say, you can take the valve off of any bottle and turn the pick up tube to mount the bottle in any orientation you want. Second wet kits don't make things go boom. it is too much timing or not enough fuel and is not wet or dry kit dependent.
