SVO blower causing blow by

It was so graciously pointed out to me this weekend by Robert P , that I have blow by occurring on my '96 4.6 with a SVO blower. I was wondering if anyone knew of a fix or prevention for this. I have oil that is getting all the way to my throttle body, thus into the intake and blower as well. Does this mean that I need a new motor soon?

Thanks,
Kevin M

Fix = engine rering provided bore wear is within acceptable limits
Prevention = no such thing. It is a function of wear.
In terms of engine replacement, there are plenty of options.

pull oil cap off..I f you have oil mist puffing out of that chances are you have a busted ringland. In that case do a compression/leak down check on all cylinders.

If it seems you dont have oil misting or feel copression comming out your oil cap opening... Go to home depot and get an oil seperator for air toold and run it inline to the vent hose going to your intake tube. This will help in the oil department

Some oil is normal

Going for broke!!!!

Seriously if you want to sell it let me know.

Have you checked your compression? I've seen enough of these engines break ring lands and still run pretty well, but have excessive blowby. Compression test tells the tale on that.

The only way that it is going to be sold is if anyone is crazy enough to give me $10k for the entire car as is . Otherwise I will keep the entire setup.

I have not checked compression yet, but will look into getting that checked soon.

Thanks,
Kevin M
