what would be the safest bet???

as soon as i get a few extra paychecks, i wanna SC my tbird. now i wasnt born yesterday with cars, but i am not the smartest with them out there. so my question will be for the guys that are engine geniuses. if i get a bolt-on SC(no roots cause more money) what would be the safest pounds of boost i could put on the car as it is without blowiing it up?? its stock setup, so would 6-7 pounds be safe??? any input would be appreciated!!!
thanks and forgive the spelling

Its all in the tune I ran the stock pulley for 3 years and many track runs and alot of beating on the street but i also know someone that is on his 3rd engine with a stock pulley , stock pulley you will be ok even a 3.4 or 3.3 pulley but there is no guarantee. I know many people that have stock and smaller pulleys .A alcohol kit will help keep the engine alive since a intercooler ist cheap .

im not sure if you'll see this but the best thing to do is get a centrifugal supercharger from paxton or vortech. they both make them for the mustang 4.6 which is exactly the same 4.6 thats in the thunderbirds. the kit basically makes you remove the airbox and thats where it goes as well as a cone filter its about 2 grand for the 8-6psi kits by both companies
