M112 question

I keep finding low milage eaton m112 chargers on craiglist for relatively cheap 500 -800 bucks. Of course thats just for the blower and in some cases the plenum, throttle body, and injectors so I would need more parts. My question is why is everyone dumping these chargers when comparable kits from tork tech are upward of 5000 dollars? Do the eatons blow up or do they just suck?

Most people selling eatons are Cobra or Lightning owners upgrading to Whipples or KBs. Tork tech gets you a custom accessory drive and manifold.

Yes, and those that you are finding on craigslist won't fit your 2v 4.6 heads. The 4v cobra C-heads are the most common source for the Eaton M112, however like mentioned before it's not that they are bad, there just easily maxed out like the M90. Whipple/KennyBell/Vortech all make superchargers that will put out more then the stock Eaton M112 which is why people upgrade. The tork tech kit lets you use the m112 supercharger on the 4.6.

I've already upgraded my heads and intake to PI which is what tork tech requires so I might go that route and stick with a two valve build. As far as a four valve build goes I've found a mark viii long block for $500. All I'm really after is the block because I've got another set of windsor pi heads with 30k on them. what are the performance benefits of using the corbra heads over the mark heads in relation to forced induction? My goal is building a Teksid block with 600 to 650hp at the wheels, needless to say probably a few years down the road before all is said and done.
