It depends on what system fits your car. Both the systems have avantages and disavantages to them. A roots type supercharger will make more low end boost and have instant boost and response. A turbo can make insane power but the more power you make the worse the turbo lag is. Turbo lag is when the engine is acting like a detuned variant of a na engine. It seems to be lethargic till the boost can kick in bu twhen it dos it can rocket to the red line fast. That also makes them hard to tune.

There are no aftermarket roots kits for the 3.8L, there are no turbo kits for the 3.8L yet either. Look for a Vortech V-2 SQ kit for a 94-98 mustang. A little custom fabrication is needed to make it fits since it's for a mustang and all but it's your only choice as far as kits go.
