Snow Menthol/ water injection?

I am seriously considering adding a Snow chemical injection system to my rig with the 6 lb powerdyne... theres just no room for an intercooler, and this seems like a good easy way to safely add another 40 hp...Anyone know about this system, and any drawbacks to it?

The way I understand it, water/methonal systems are like an intercooler in that they don't really add power, but let you tune without backing off timing and retard, which adds the power. So you'll get back the kind of power that you had to tune out for safety. the systems have been around for years and seem to be more popular on high boost, non-intercooled systems. I know a lot of Buick GN people run them even with intercoolers.

I know the turbo systems I've been exploring utilize a methanol injection system and a dual-stage boost controller. They're setup to run the higher boost setting only when the methanol injection is also turned on. So for day to day driving, you run standard low (5-8lb) boost then turn it up (12lb+) at the track with the methanol.

I just read the article on the Snow methanol injection, and it seems like a good deal. They did a dozen dyno runs and had only used a small portion of the methanol/water mix. I also was pretty impressed that it upped the boost, and they could run the car at 17PSI on pump gas, and put out numbers that bested their numbers on race fuel. As cheap as methanol is, you could save quite a bit of money in the long run by using it over race gas. The fact that it made more power is just a bonus.

I am running it right now. I am pretty pleased with it and it was pretty simple to install. It has been running flawlessly. I am using windshield wiper fluid as my coolant. It has methanol in it. I am using it as a safety feature and not a fuel additive though. My Vortech gets extremely hot and really burns up the intake air. I used to never be able to touch my supercharger or the intake after just driving around for 5 minutes. Now my supercharger is still burning hot but my intake is just pretty warm and I can keep my hand on it. J tuned it conservative but I have a little over 300hp and 445ft/lbs of torque. I just like the added safety since there is no room for an inter/aftercooler in the 5.0 tbird engine bay.

I've been running a Snow Performance unit for about 2 years now and I love it. I have it set to COME ON at 6# of boost.
Trial and error experimentation revealed to me that too early of an onset of the methanol mix would actually quench combustion and performance would stumble as a result.
I run 50/50 methanol and water. I've also tried the wiper fluid but I don't like the way it makes my exhaust smell.
I get about 400 ~ 500 miles out of a half gallon fuel tank.
Thinking about running the mix through a little cooler to increase the intercooling effect even more.
