SC/XR-7 Springs

Are the XR-7 springs the same spec as the Supercoupe? As far as stiffness goes. I'm looking for a set to upgrade the stockers on my 97. I considered buying Eibach's or Vogtland, but from what I hear the SC springs are a good bit stiffer. If the XR-7 Springs are the same that would be perfect as there are quite a bit more cougars than thunderbirds at the local yard. Thanks!

That's kind of what I need to know. The only XR-7's I can find at the yard are V8's.

Did the 91 XR-7 V8 not have the SC suspension?? I know they had the adjustable shocks and Im sure the springs were the same as the SC. I bet you won't find one of these, but you never know.

The 91 XR7 did have the exact same suspension as the SC. They aren't that uncommon, its just that most of the ones you find have been beat to snot.

Everyone ignores the 92 XR7's, those had the SC suspension as well. Those only lost the SC interior goodies before the 93's got the one price fits all crap.

I didn't know whether the 92s got the SC suspension or not. Then again, I've only ever seen one 92XR7, so they are probably pretty hard to come by.

The SC cars had sport springs; they are pretty stiff, and need konis to work well.

Spring Code JJJJ on the drivers' side doorjamb label indicates the sport springs.

Here is the info on them...
