Rough Ride

I am driving a 94 Supercoupe, had it for several years and have never done any work on the suspension. I don't think the auto ride works because i have a very firm ride. Don't have a clue how the auto ride system works and don't know where to start.

Anyone have suggestions?

This is just a suggestion, but before I started diving into the autoride system I would check to make sure the suspension mechanicals are in good shape. Upper ball joints are notorious for failing on these cars.

Get the suspension perfect and then see if it feels too rough.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the autoride simply change the dampening in the shocks?

But just my .02.

AFAIK, just the SC had it.

It's not a 97 Sport, it just looks like one!

Funny, Sweetie's 1991 Cougar XR7 has it.

Of course, it was basically a Thunderbird SC with a Cougar body on it ...

(the XR7 was the Cougar flavor of the Thunderbird SC for most of the Gen1 time for the MN12.)
