Inner tie rod question

Rebuilding the entire front end, one side at a time though!

I removed the original inner tie rod from the rack and there was no rivet holding it on (no hole, nothing) and it didn't appear to have any factory lock tight either. The new Motorcraft ones I bought from Jon have the hole for the rivet. I was going to install the new one the same way. Anyone else find this? From searching posts I thought the inners came from the factory with this rivet securing it.

It's not a 97 Sport, it just looks like one!

Mine didn't have it either. Just put the rivet on the new ones and that should be fine.

I love my V8, but I'd love it more if all 8 cylinders worked. (they do now)

My T-bird is like George Jetson's wife, you try to give her a little money, she takes the whole wallet.

My 95 had a rivet on both. Maybe yours were replaced at one time. Anyway, it will be easier to take off if you didn't have any. Just install the new ones with the rivets. I just used channel locks to push it down and a c-clamp to finish pushing it in until flush with the top.
