UCA Flag Bolts

So I can't figure out why Ford recommends you break the flags off the UCA bolts?

My bolts came out great, even with the spring installed. They're in great shape... I reused them but I wonder why they don't want you to. The flags made it easy to torque the nuts back down!!!

I even soaked them in Evapo-Rust overnight, but that didn't take off all the rust. I shoulda left them in there longer....
