trying to find the right rack and pinion for my car

My rack and pinion is leaking BADLY and I'm going to replace the unit, but when I called Summit racing equipment, they stated that there were 2 styles possible. One is a FORD unit, and the other is a TRW unit. How do I figure out which one is on mine. A small note, this car gets me to work. No car, no job!

You need the Ford unit..The TRW style was used on the Fox Body style Thunderbirds..

Normally I wouldn't tell somebody to do this, but since this is your only vehicle here's a little trick you can do to get you by until your new Rack & Pinion arrives..

If your rack is leaking at the seals, and dripping out of the bellows there's a way to slow it down..

When your Reservoir starts getting low again..Run half Brake Fluid, and half Mercon V..

The Brake Fluid will cause the seals to swell thus slowing or stopping the leak completely..

This is just a temporary fix..So get your Rack fixed ASAP!
