It needs to move; the Shock Shaft angle varies inboard to outboard as the suspension moves up and down around the pivot of the inner lca bolt, and it moves front to back with the strut rod bushings flexing on both ends. (hopefully, not as far, lol)
If you're going to make it solid, it needs a spherical bushing or bearing that supports movement; Or it may break the shock or shock seals.
That said, This part is the big thing keeping me from buying Race Konis; the shaft is bigger than stock.
