Cool '97 Upper Strut mounts??

One of mine is broken, how do I replace it please?

Don't have any speciality tools, would like to in my driveway if possible......

Pull the whole shock/spring assembly out and get a spring compressor to break everything down. Maybe a nearby shop can take it apart for you. You don't need that spring letting go at the wrong time!

+1 Like Joe said, pull the assembly and have a shop take that apart for you. Those springs are deadly.

Post a pictures of what's broken. You should be able to pull the spring/shock assembly with no problem. Just leave that center nut alone!

Wish I had a place to work on my car... Apartment complex was not happy that I changed my brake pads in the parking lot. Lol. I think mine is broken as well probably have a shop do it with new shocks..

Before you take them out, push down on the car (in the front) and see if you have any movement in the upper mount. May as well change them.
