Tail sagging blues

Taking the Bird cross country this summer. Looking for a cheap way to stiffen the rear suspension for the extra weight. Has anyone ever used Spring Rubbers? Would those help keep the ride level with luggage in the rear? Was also thinking of removing back seats to save weight. Heard that was worth about 35 pounds.
Any help is appreciated. trying to keep the fix to under $100 Thanks

A set of these would be the easiest way.

Don’t bother removing the back seat, it won’t have any effect on the ride height, but it will let a lot more noise into the cabin, which will make it unpleasant to drive long distances.
