PS pump or rack?

Ive read through the searched posts concerning the matter. On morning start up, the power assist is very weak..the steering requires alot of driver input. My fluid level is full and i dont seem to be leaking. All of my ball type joints are new. After about 20-30 minutes of driving, the steering regains more assist, but still not as much as it should. When turning, at more than half of full turning circle, i do get clicks and pops. Does it seem like a rack issue? I dont seem to get any odd noises from the PS pump area. Anyone have any input?

whoa horsey, I think that if my knuckles are gonna get beaten up and
we are going to invest the time to do this, get a rebuilt or new rack!

You can't tell condition on the used rack and they aren't that expensive.
We may wind up doing 2 that day.
Wendy's #2 biggie size with a dr. pepper please

Joseph,

Just to give you a baseline, I ordered rack for GB from Dan on Friday and it was under $200. I think it was $175, but I'm not sure.. I ordered so much other stuff, I don't really remember which cost what...

I found a rack at Congress for 87$...same brand as everyone else..A1 Cardone. They can get it to me in a day. So, is the offer still present to help swap it? All-u-can-eat Wendys is available
