can i use the bilstein outer and order the konis inserts to put in them

Bilstein told me $65 + parts to rebuild a shock.

I thought they had life time warantees? Wouldn't that imply they fix em free

2011 CTS-V Wagon
1968 Torino was an original 289, C4, fully documented numbers matching car. Now: DOHC 4.6L/T-56 swapped, Cobra intake, IMRC delete, BBK long tubes and H pipe. Dynotech Aluminum Driveshaft, 9" rear with TrueTrac and 4.11's.

..but yeah, that was what the individual from Bilstein's West Coast office told me when I called back when the news first broke that they were discontinued.

So I have lifetime warranties but it cost me $65+ to repair shocks? And what do I do in the time waiting for the repaired shock to be returned to me? I have to go buy a temp shock from Pep Boys?

wtf they cant charge for that!!! someone should call to figure that out or read the fine print in their warranty and if no one can find anything saying they will charge fro it then take some kind of legal action.
