Hit a pot hole with my Bilstein/Eibach combo, now what?

I got Bilstein struts and Eibach 2" lowering springs all the way around. Had this setup for a year or so. Since the roads in new jersey are so loveliy I decided to go back to the sport springs and keep the Bilsteins. The car was just too low for the kinda roads around here. So a few days before I was going to go back to the sport springs "BOOM" I hit a pot hole. Now my Front/Left Bilstein strut is bent. The strut itself is fine but the mounting point is bent (see pics). So since i need to drive the car I put the sport springs back (took out the Eibachs) still got the Bilsteins in the rear, and for now cheap R&S Struss "specials" up front (those "specials" are my old blown to hell original struts). SO WHAT NOW?

Does the Bilstein lifetime warr. cover this?
Do I contact shox.com or Bilstein?
Is this even supposed to happen?
Could it have been a faulty strut to begin with?
What are my options?

Please feel free to comment and look @ the great pics.

Dident know where to post since its not a shock question,
more of a warr. question.

Damn that must have been one hell of a pot hole! Looks like you took on a curb at about 40 mph. Since its not normal where and tear i would bet its not covered! That would not be a defect. But since its not a strut and just a shock straighten out the bracket and put it back in. if it tore the metal than you will have to replace it.

There are a few spots where there is rust - looks like there were already smaller bends in it, and it was just waiting for a big pothole.

That sucks, I don't think that theres much you can do for that one, except maybe to get a custom set of bracets welded up. Probably ain't worth the expense.

Looks like your lower shock mount bushing has gone to hell. I think this was the source of the problem since that absorbs much of the instantaneous force before it is transmitted to the shock.

I came home from Kosovo on Monday very excited about driving my car...my wife told me there was something wrong with the front suspension before she left for Kosovo in October.

I put it on a lift yesterday...right front Bilstein is destroyed. I took a bunch of pics, but I guess it's time for some new shocks and springs...they lasted about 2 years.

I also bought a black 97 AED 4.6 Bird...so I have two now.
