Tubular Rear Subframe

Got some pictures from the chassis builder building my "other" car. So that got me to thinking, what would be the weight saving/benefit of a tubular rear subframe for our cars? I'm sure he could do it easily, and probably wouldn't charge me that much, since I just sent him a check for $4,000. I'm just wondering if it would be worth his time, my money to make one for me. He has already said he could do a tubular K-Member for me, I've seen some of his for Mustangs and Camaros and they are a top quality piece. I asked him about mass producing them, and he said "NO", because he likes to build them on the car, because there are less problems that way.

No, that's not my car, that's one that was just finished out of the same shop doing mine, he just sent me pics of an example of what mine will look like in 4 months

Yeah, he actually lives about 4 streets over from me. Good guy too, he'll sit and listen to what you want, make suggestions, and then help you decide based on your budget what you want to do. He has let me come to the shop and hang out, and just watch them build cars, and explain things to me. I've never seen someone who can TIG weld as well as he can, the guy is a master.

Ya know, I haven't weighed a stock rear subframe yet. If I get a chance over the weekend, I'll set one on the scale.
