Front LCA

ok i have a quick question.... about a year ago i had my ball joints replaced.... well on the drivers side the lower control arm was replaced because they couldnt get just the ball joint. well in the lca, there is a bushing that the rod goes through, ( i know you use it to adjust caster for alignments). so i guess my question is that can i get the just the bushing, or would it be easier just to get a new lower controll arm. im asking cause the drivers side bushing is new, and the passenger side bushing or what isnt there, (bushing is shot), and im thinking that could be part of my problem for the clunking coming only from the passenger side front. any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

patrick

Ya you can just replace the bushing its actually has 2 bushings one for the front and one for the back half its not pressed in so you dont have to replace the LCA to replace the. Now getting to it in my opinion and with my experience with my front end i would just take the nut off the LCA ball joint pop it out but before you do that take the strut rod nut off. Your gonna need a socket or wrench for the bolt and another wrench to hold the strut rod in place but dont put the wrench on were it curves up just were it comes level. then take the bushings out and get new ones. Ford sells them in packs. 2 fronts and 2 rears. Other than that its straight forward if you have a haynes or chiltons manual it would be good to have. Hope this helps
