JB Weld Rear STB?

Is JB Weld strong enough to weld a rear STB? It would be alot easier to make.

Thanks
Will

I wouldn't use it. It's too easy to have someone weld a couple beads.

Tell you what: make an STB with JB Weld, then hit it with a hammer. I'll bet the glue will break. You and a hammer don't have nearly the force of a 4,000 pound Thunderbird plus the additional force generated by suspension travel. This would be an extraordinarily bad idea.

That would be one way to find out how much that brace really does. If it survives, it would prove that it doesn't see much force at all. If it breaks it doesn't really prove anything since it wouldn't take much force to break, but it would prove that the bar does a little something anyway. Give it a try, let us know how long it takes to break. It isn't like it will fail catastrophically. You won't even know it happened until the next time you open your trunk. Unless you can hear it rolling around back there after it comes apart. Then you can clean the JB off and take it somewhere to get welded up for real.

JB weld sucks. Don't even try to use it for anything. It's complete GARBAGE. Go to a local muffler shop and have them weld it.. they would probly do it for 10 bucks...
