putting in my own bushings

can i use a vise and some sockets to put my own LCA crossmember bushings in ? maybe with a long bar on the vise, or am i pissing in the wind? i don't really know where to go to get them done on a weekend. I am not to trusing of other people anyway

Hehe..gotcha.

yeah, you have to be careful with them. There are two situation you can get yourself in. 1) affordable but unknowlegable worker or 2) knowlegable but expensive worker.

i see harbor frieght has an arbor press for $50 i might just get one of those

Or go to your local AutoZone and use their "Loan-a-Tool" program. You pay for the item, use it, and return if for a full refund.

It's an awesome program of those tools that you'll only need once or twice.

I don't think a vice is going to do it, but it might.

do they rent you a press or is there some sort of tool i can use the press it with like the ball joint installation tools?

Here's a list of all the tools they have available:

The ball joint tool might work, but I'm not sure.

I used that for the frame to LCA bushings in the rear, but I had a lot more adapters.
