Sway bar turns into chaos

well, I got the rear sway bar in just fine, so we started on the front and took everything down to lower the K member and raise the engine. We began taking the bolts out for the K member and most where coming out with ease, so then we went to take out the rear ones on the drivers side and they just kept spinning. So the bad news is that we have to cut part of the wheel well out to get to the nuts becuase they are in the frame and need to be welded back on.

Thank really sucks dude and I hope you get it squared away without too much of a hassle. The front bar install is hard enough and this "side job" only adds to the pain. I use Copper anti-size on most of the hardware unless I feel it's more important to use loctite like on the valve cover bolts. Mike's hardware was corroded very badly since he lives in FL but I took care of all of it and anti-size has been a major player in his build.

Good luck and try to deal with it without letting yourself get frustrated. I've always dreaded that scenario and figured I'd be the one dealing with that at some point considering I have done a couple Addco installs and never were they a walk in the park

Do you guys think that putting a stock supercoupe bar in my car will be a problem?

Still have to drop the kmember? My car has no bar in the front and I picked up a supercoupe bar to put in the front.

I pulled the stock bar our of my 89 SC parts car with the engine still in the car and the K member still in place, so I know it can be done...it was a PITA, but it was better than the other possibilities.

The stock bar can be removed without lowering the K-Member with much work but a larger bar can not go back in that way. Been there done that.

I had to pull the engine from my 89 SC parts car before the bar would consider coming out.

And it was still a fight, but at least the K member didn't have to be dropped.

Just for future reference, should I spring for an Addco bar or use the SC front bar when I pull my engine?

The 89 SC front bar is 1.20". If it will come out, I should think a 1.25" bar would go in...I am putting one in, but I already have the engine out.

The ADDCO bends do not exactly follow the stock bars. I did try but if you can more power to you. Good luck.

so just to be clear. My car has no bar in the front now. I have a 89sc bar to put in it.

Can I just slide it in, or do i have to drop the big K?

well, its all done and it feels really tight. It was alot of work and I can say from experiance that there is no way to put the 1 1\4 addco bar in without lowering the K member plain and simple. The other bar can be muscled out with raising the engine but If you dont plan on keeping it I would just cut it , it saves alot of time. The car handles great now and you really feel the road its much different.
