How long do balljoints last?

Did a search, and found nothing, What is the life of the upper and lower balljoints? How can you tell if they are bad?

From experience you hear a rubber slowly slipping on metal sound. You may feel the front tires not riding flat on the tread after the turn. If you really let the ball joint go, the wheel collapses into the fender well.

The Parts Bin Special is DEAD! It is being parted out.

if they have been bad for any time you might notice some wearing on the outside of your tires.

I just replaced my lower ball joints at 109k on my 94 and the passenger side had 1/8" play in it. My last bird lost the lower driver side ball joint at 160k. And my cousin lost his lower joint at about 150k. I recomend a replacement for the front lowers not much after 110k atleast!

I'm just over 100k on mine. The upper ball joint on the driver side is damaged and making noise. I don't see anything on the passengers side but I'm going to replace both.

I'd say 75K to 100K is the normal life expectancy of a balljoint. I've replaced 7 on three of my birds.
