Replacing front spindles...How do I release all spring tension

I know raising the car at the K member with lower the LCA and releave tension, but will that releave it all. I don't want the springs to pop in my face as I'm unbolting the spindels. What do I need to do?

Many thanks,

It won't pop on you. The spring is contained by the shock assembly.

Remove the 3 nuts on the shock tower. Remove the sway bar link on the spindle. Remove the lower shock bolt. Since you're removing the spindle, go ahead and disconnet the upper ball joint. The spring/shock assembly should fall right out.
