Here the strut rod bushings are outlined. There are two sets of bushings. One where the strut rod goes through the lower control arm, and the other where it goes through the K-member.

A good way to tell if they are bad is, put the car in reverse, get a friend to look at the wheel closely. Slowly go backwards then hit the brakes. If the wheel moves FORWARD while you stop (it will actually "shift" forward...) then the Strut Rod bushing in the LCA is bad. Do the same thing going forward, and see if the wheel shifts backwards. If that's the case then the Bushing going to the K member is bad. I replaced my Strut rod LCA bushings, my wheel would shift. Now I can feel the wheel move when I am rolling forward then brake. Time to do the bushings to the K member.

do a search on their failures. Most of the pics you will find are from my car. Im on my 4th strut rod bushing since october 2003.
