Ethanol gas question for people that live in TX when jerry was in beaumount.

I belive it was december 03 or 04 when jerry was tuning cars in beaumount tx. I think I rembember seeing that the gas might have had ethanol in it but am not sure. Did the gas in houston or beaumount have ethanol in it then?

most of the major gas station do have the 10% ethanol label on all pumps, Im not sure exactly when that started, its been a good while but not sure if it goes back to 03.

I think my car was tuned with the gas that had methanol in it. Because when I richend the mixture up for methanol it ran very poorly at wot. I set it back to the 14.64 air fuel ratio it runs a lot harder than it had. I think that my air fuel ratio corrected for the ethanol gas is not 11.7 like it was tuned for but 11.3 which is pig rich. I am going to do some data logging with the ethanol gas at the 14.1 and the 14.64 if it is pulling fuel at 14.1 and not at 14.63 on the long term fuel trims then I will know it was tuned with ethanol gasoline.

Gas in 2003 had little to no ethanol in it. The 10% ethanol in gasoline was started earlier this year. If there was any back then, it was probably close to a 1% to 2% mixture.
