Need Some Advice

Hi All,
My cougie needs some attention, like a water pump and a radiator. I was starting to do it, but I must have annoyed one of my neighbors, since the HOA Nazis showed up and shut me down.

I would do it in my garage, but my MG is taking up too much space.

Anyone have a recommendation on who I could take this to, and get the old girl cooling again?

Ron

i say give them the finger ( secretly ) then move whatever you need to move to one side of the garage if 2 car. if you have a one car garage you could try puting some things in the house for the time being or outside on the patio to give you more room. but i would leave the garage door 3/4 of the way down so the neighbors dont know what your doing. then open the door when you are ready to fire it up. honestly it shouldn't take no more than a hour and a half tops to do a water pump and radiator and fill the car back up with coolant.

If you have alot of stuff in the garage and you dont want to move it all do this.

Move everything just enough to have the cars front end in, pop the hood and the closs the garage SLOWLY down about where the front glass starts, pack side of the garage if you really need to hide.

Its a said day when ppl stop you from working on your car, ive replace both WP and Rad just about 2 months ago and if anyone would of Tryied to of stopped me i think i would of relieved some air out of the tires.

I started the repairs, but I am really beginning to hate the old girl. I got everything off except the bypass tube (wiggles) and two studs that I am afraid of breaking. One stud is loose on the pump, the other has some corrosion holding it in there. I sprayed everything down with PB Blaster to try to get things loose. Too hot right now, so I'm going to take a break.

Edit:

Took some patience, but old pump is out, new pump is in and now it's raining, so I get to take another break.

Thanks for all the advice.

Ron

Ya that damn bypass tube (assuming the one right on top of the pump) is a pain in the ass, specially when you have the new O ring on it, just have to lube the hell out of it and muscle it in.

Yep, nasty old 3.8. Luckily all seems to be well again. The car is cooling like it should, fan working and now I can drive with AC. My life is pretty good I guess. Now I can get back to work on my MG. Hopefully I get my header back from Tbirdbrain soon.
