Tim Groth - Yellow Mustang Wrecked

Tim Groth wrecked his Yellow Mustang on Sunday night in Roanoake, VA. He apparently spun out and hit the end of a guard rail right in the drivers side door.

He's at Roanoke Memorial with a busted spleen and 9 broken ribs. Other than that he's doing OK and is expected to make a full recovery.

I wish him the best in his recovery and I'm sorry for his loss of the car. I know he loved that car.

Be careful out there Guys! These performance cars are no joke.

I think Blueeyes told me this type of BS is gonna happen too much power for people to handle and they wreck their cars. I think a lot more is gonna happen again just too much power for people. THink how many undeserving wives are gonna get some 400hp stang for their 25th birthday and total them out. I see the stang parts market having a great time snatching up all the parts from the new totals that have salvagable parts.

These pictures were taken at the Joel Bender Summer Blast meet at the end of August last year. So yea, a lot of us were repping Tbird and Ford attire.

Tim Groths yellow mustang

If you haven't heard Tim wrecked his yellow Mustang and is the Roanoke Memorial. From the MAMN12 group he has 9 broken rib keep him in your prayers.

As a side note give him a week before you make him laugh. I think, so I've been told it hurts like heck to laugh.

Unfortunately, this is the risk we take when we do something "stupid" on the street. Hopefully, he makes a good recovery. That was a nice looking Mustang from what I can see from the pics.

Just throwing it out there, every single time I have lost control of my vehicle, I was doing something pretty damn stupid! I don't comprehend how someone could lose control of a vehicle while driving in a normal manner, so I would speculate that he was doing something stupid as well. I'm not trying to put the guy down or anything, and to be perfectly honest, the way I see it, what is the point of owning a fast fun street car, if not to enjoy it on the street?

Hopefully Tim make a speedy recovery, and gets back into another nice car soon, and hopefully this will just be chocked up to a lesson learned, and he'll be more careful next time. Still, that is a shame that the car is wrecked. All the custom airbrushing and attention to detail basically everywhere on that car was very impressive, and someone obviously put a lot of time and energy into the car.

-98 Mark VIII LSC, Procharger P600b, TR3650 swap and 3.73s.

+1 Same thing with me; usually the two words spoken right before the accident is, "Watch This!"

I'll give him a call in a week or so and wish him our best.

I'm sure he's quite sore and overwhelmed with all of this right now.

Sorry to hear about Tim and the Mustang. Sure was nice. If I had my Mark VIII or Cobra when I was as young as he looks I don't think I would be here. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Wish Tim the best and wish him a speedy recovery both physically and emotionally on his loss.

Too much power is relative, it's the brain-fart gets you. And everyone has them.

Imagine getting to the front of pack of rush-hour traffic on a crisp still winter morn... you push the gas down a little ... well, a lot.. to put more distance and find yourself on the tilt-a-whirl as you do a do-nut in middle of freeway, just realizing as you look through windshield at traffic in three lanes coming at you.. BLACK ICE!!!

Fortunately did a full 360 but speed scrubbed off down to about 20mph as you get straight... now Find second and floor it and hope no more ice.
I wondered I didnt faint from the adrenaline.. and no one in the pack panicked on that ice no damage at all from might have been a freeway pile-up disaster.

And that was just with a stock SVO..with a little too aggressive traction-lok. IOW a combination of everything.

I learn more about cars every day!
I do it just because I still want to know HOW and WHY!!! Quit learning=die. Be informed as to WHAT, rather than learn,=brain-dead already.
