Where can I find Ford TSB's?

Just wondering if there is a site where I can look at the TSB's for my '97 LX without paying a fee.

Thanks,

Scott

I started saving all the TSB, articles, recalls, but after copying and pasting 30+ documents, I stopped because I'm running out of time and I have to get ready for work. I can zip up and email you what I have so far - trust me, you will be reading for hours if not days. That's a LOT of information involving letters, documents, images, OASIS information, etc. Everything from cam sensor to O2s to speaker buzz, to engine/tranny fluid recommendations, paint, vibration, air-bag, a/c, intake manifold, brakes, on and on and on.

Like I said, I can't give you access, but I can copy and paste these, zip them up, and email it to you. It's a lot of work, so if you're just doing this because you're curious, I think you'd be better served by trying to diagnose/repair particular symptoms/issues with your vehicle and asking for info as you require it (don't forget to SEARCH & Google).

Our public library has an automotive resources section - log in from home using your library card and get access to all of this.
Also includes repair procedures, book hours for certain repair jobs, stuff like that.

It has been very helpful over the years - you might want to see if your local library has something like that on their website.

Thank you for your generous offer, NetKeym. I will take you up on what you have created so far and PM my email addy to you. I was hoping to find the TSB's online so that I would not have to impose on anyone, however I really appreciate your helping me out.

Below is a link to the thread I started in the 3.8 forum about a real head scratcher of a problem with my car. The shop that has the car is about ready to give up & turn it back over to me.

http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=132020

Yesterday I remembered an acquaintance who works in the bodyshop of a local Ford dealership and called him up. I was hoping that he might know of one of their technicians (mechanics to us old dogs) that may be willing to work on my car at his own house so that I can keep the repair costs down (I am an unemployed bum). Sheldon no longer works at the dealership and didn't know of a mechanic who did side work anyway. What he did suggest is that I look into the TSB's that Ford put out on the car and see if the symptoms were widespread enough to warrant a Ford TSB on the problem. So I Googled for Ford TSB and kept running into sites that I would have to subscribe to in order to read up on them. For example AllData listed over 100 TSB's but by the title of them, I wasn't sure if any applied to my problem so I was hesitant to plunk the $ down. Sheldon also suggested that I go to the dealership in person and talk to a service man in person to see if I could read through their TSB's w/o paying and also to possibly get some insight to the problem. I definitely am going to do that, but NetKeym, if you would email what you have already scanned I may find a hint or two to the issue. Thanks again.

mrs.tbirdbrain (nice handle btw), thanks for the tip. My Chilton's manual is not very specific where I think I need it to be. I will see what the local libraries have if the TSB chase doesn't pan out. And thanks again to you, also.

I want and need my car back. The 10 mpg on the old Ramcharger is getting old, and he is getting tired of being driven everyday as well.

I sent the zipped up 30 TSBs. If you check out Buckcreekbilly's link, you will see there are 105 documents total (that should give you the idea of the magnitude of this thing). I got all this info off Alldata which has diagrams, photos, letters, troubleshooting, etc. from Ford complete with part numbers and links that came of Ford's OASIS system. Good thorough info for you! I'll get you a second batch of 30-40 docs in a couple days, then there will just be one final batch and you will have them all! Oh, and you're welcome, I'm just glad I was able to help.

You all have access to Alldata from your library? I've never seen that, but it would be cool!

Hey Scott's Coug,

Sorry I took so long, but I just zipped you up another 30 TSB's for your 1997 LX and sent them to you. There are about 40 left and I'll send two more batches, then you'll have them all. Good luck because there is A TON of reading involved in reading all those!!! LOL

Happy Holidays!
