Vacuum Fitting Question

Are the steel vacuum fittings that are in the intake manifolds just pressed in or is there some type of sealant/adhesive used?

For example the two fitting at the extreme left of this photo.

Are they pressed in or glued in?

If they break off a piece of the casting, they were cast into the manifold; like the other inserts.

I thought about it, but decided to use scotchbrite instead.

BTW, where can you buy the "freeze plugs" in the side of the manifold?

I had my machine shop source the plugs.

Well the did it when they pressed in my cam bearings, on the SC.

If your really concerned about breaking the manifold could drill them out.

If all else fails get a bigger hammer!
