Red face Torque converter PLUG is hard to align

I cranked the engine about 50 times, guess what, it ended
up leaving the torque converter along, i.e., I can
only drain the pan!. Can anyone sucessfully done this
tell me how to align that plug hole?

Another question, is the fluid in TQ seperated from fluid
in pan? If so, I can still use later next time.

Thanks a lot!

The times that I have done this, it has been a two person operation. One person under the TC looking though the hole for the plug. The other person slowly turning the engine clockwise (when looking at the front of the engine) with a socket on the bolt on the front of the crankshaft. To make it easier, take out the spark plugs to keep the compression stroke from working against you.

The person under the TC yells at the other person when the plug is lined up with the hole.

This has been my experience.

A book sale at the library? Why even bother? Why would I want to buy a book, when I didn't want it for free?

Sounds like bbird is actually turning the key....don't do'll be there forever. Do like Scott says above..put a socket on the crank and turn it manually...DO NOT turn it backwards! Good luck

Thnaks, scott & seabass!!!

It's done. I used a ramp instead of jack stands, so
more space, and I can rotate the engine while I was
able to keep eyes on TQ. 10 second job.
