Should there be any play in the radiator fan?

Upon general inspection tonight i've noticed that my radiator cooling fan has a very large amount of play in it. To the point where it leaves shallow rings on the radiator. Safe to say I should replace the fan, correct?

Spinny things that wobble as they spin are not long for this world.

Andif it's already ringing the radiator, do consider it can core the radiator when it lets go.

I'd do a new fan AND a new radiator .. I skipped the radiator when my A/C compressor clutch/pulley came apart on my 1988 Dakota, and ... five months later, the radiator blew out. (Didn't just spring a leak, four of the core tubes were bent away from the hole ... it BLEW out.)

Of course, 60 miles from home and without tools ...

I don't recommend that for anyone else.
