Help w/ rear stock brakes upgrade.

96 T-Bird MM12 with stock rear brakes and upgraded 17" rims. Stock brakes are not doing the job with 17" rims. Need to upgrade but need info for what parts/equipment are available. Any info will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Al

I don't understand "stock brakes aren't doing the job with 17" rims".
I'm running 18's and my brakes work exactly the same as they did with 16"s.

Now, if you mean they don't fill the gap enough, that's an easy fix.

Buy a set of 99-04 Mustang Cobra front and rear rotors, find a rear caliper relocation bracket, a round file, and file the lug holes toward the hub about 1/8" inch so that they'll mount on your stock hubs (unless you already hubswapped). You'll also need hubcentric rings for the spindle to cobra rear rotors. Also get some PBR Cobra calipers and you'll have 13" front, 11.65" rear brakes, will fill the wheels up nicely, and stop you much better.

I was gonna say the same thing. My stock brakes work just fine with my 18"s but that gap is an eyesore along with the rust.
